Posted: 28 October 2009
With an increasing number of Android-based mobile phones now available, shoppers may welcome the software's latest upgrade.
The 2.0 version of the Google operating system (OS) - which also goes by the name Eclair - was unveiled this week on the developer's official blog page, alongside details relating to its changes.
It was advised that enhancements to its Bluetooth support and contact management systems had also been backed by alterations to its peer-to-peer functionality.
This means that when applied to devices like the HTC Hero, Motorola DEXT or Samsung i7500 Galaxy, the new Android OS may serve users better as a tool for music and gaming.
In addition, the blog explained: "Over the next few months, we expect to see more and more Android devices being released."
According to GigaOM, the upcoming Motorola Droid could be one of the first mobile phones to benefit from the new Eclair software.
