Smartphone shoppers told to focus on processors
Posted: 29 June 2009
Screen size, camera features and other technical aspects are often the deciding factor for those shopping for new mobile phones, it has been advised.
According to a spokesman for Pocket-lint, an online resource for news and reviews of the latest gadgets, there are many different things that will catch the eye of the consumer when they are in the market for a device.
However, Duncan Geere, a reporter for the site, added that very often when it comes to smartphones it is equally important to focus on what kind of processing speed the model could offer.
"I'm not sure that consumers realise that yet," he explained, noting that such technology can affect "the speed of launching applications, switching between portrait and landscape mode, use of the camera, et cetera".
Apple recently altered the processing power of its new iPhone 3G, equipping the latest S version of the gadget with a system it claims is twice as fast as its predecessor.
