Nokia Ovi Maps 'simple and useful'

Those considering Nokia's current range of smartphones may be tempted by the recent comments of one expert.

In an article discussing the Finnish manufacturer's Ovi Maps system, it was suggested the service is not only simple to use, it is also something that can be particularly handy for navigation.

Nokia Conversations contributor Charlie explained that this is something he learned during his time in Europe, but added that moving to the US has seen him lose access to the product due to poor support and coverage.

He recalled the easy set-up options and synchronisation facilities that link landmarks and other features together seamlessly.

"There is no doubting the geeky thrill of being able to see street maps peppered with points of interest or satellite images of your surroundings, all from the palm of your hand and from anywhere you happen to be," Charlie concluded.

Last week, the site revealed the results of a survey that found 42 per cent of its readers carry two mobile phones.
