New apps from U2 and O2
Posted: 16 September 2009
BlackBerry users and U2 fans may be pleased to hear about a new application launched by Research In Motion this week.
The company announced the release of software that takes music from the Irish rock giant's most recent record No Line on the Horizon and boosts it with "a rich visual experience".
Put together in collaboration with Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, the widget includes interactive facilities, as well as enhanced audio and video options.
U2 manager Paul McGuinness said: "As music fans, the band has always enjoyed all the detail of an album gatefold or CD booklet. They want to make visual material available with their albums and this app is the ideal way to do it."
However, those looking for something more practical may be more interested in the My O2 for iPhone application which was made available this week for Apple mobile phones.
The system helps people keep track of remaining inclusive minutes and Bolt Ons, as well as any extras they may have on their contract or pay-as-you-go account.
Are you a bigger fan of U2 or O2?
